By car

• Ring R0 (E19 Brussels-Mons) Exit 21 (Halle)
• at the exit, keep to the left
• turn left at the second traffic lights (N28-Nivelles)
• for car park Hogebermweg (P1a on the map): at the junction with Warande/Maasdal to the left, follow the sign post ‘P Hallerbos’, immediately after the bridge over the motorway turn right.
• for the forest museum (P2): continue along the N28 until the “Vlasmarktdreef”. At the “Vlasmarktdreef”: turn left into the forest. Car park forest museum: 200m ahead on the left.

accessibility to the wood during the flowering season of the bluebells: the Vlasmarktdreef will be closed from Saturday April 5 to Sunday May 4. Parking 2 is then not accessible by car. During the weekends and on 21/04 there is a one-way loop to car park 1b.

Parking 4 is fully reserved for people with a disabled person’s card during this period. Parking is prohibited in the surrounding streets.

It is recommended to use parking 1b (Houtveld) or parking 1a (Hogebermweg) from April 5 to May 4. For more information about the accessibility and reachability of the forest during the bluebell season, click here.

By camper or motorhome

For those who come by motorhome: it is not allowed to stay overnight in the parking spaces of the Hallerbos. The closest overnight accommodation for campers are:

  • There are 4 spaces at Parking Suikerkaai (max 24h parking at the same (daily) rate). There is no running water or electricity connection. The waste water is collected in a special collection pit. Rate: 0.50 euros per hour and from the third hour 1 euro per hour. Daily rate: 5 euros. Free on Saturdays. This parking lot is closed on May 1, 2025 due to the Zennefeest.
  • Camping-stay park Oasis in 1654 Huizingen – Reiberg 27 – 5.9 km from the forest.

In Huizingen, just 5,9 km from the forest, there is a camping where you can stay overnight: Camping Oasis, Reiberg 27, 1654 Huizingen. Also in 1601 Ruisbroek on the E19 there are places for campers.
