For years, the runoff water from the region\u2019s border to Pipaenshoek was drained into the Steenputbeek. This had a disastrous effect on the fish fauna and caused heavy erosion at peak flow rates.<\/p>\n<p>To counteract this, in 2008, a retention basin of 1.300 m\u00b3 water was built near the Arenberg pond. It catches the water and carries it away through a delivery pipe to the sewage.
